The word Proême comes from the contraction of two French words « PRO(se) » and « (po)ÈME », prose and poetry melted into one word. The label is strongly influenced by literature, philosophy and all the matters related to word construction, etymology and semantic. They see a direct relation between fashion and letter subject, even more when looking at the immutable connection between Paris and literature.
The label was founded by Marion Gauban Cammas who worked for Jean Paul Gaultier, Christophe Lemaire and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, and Ulysse Meridjen who served as business director for consulting agencies working for luxury and sports brands
Their poetic collections are mainly manufactured in France and Italy from carefully sourced fabrics, with a special appealing to prints and patterns. All prints are unique and designed in house, they convey the message of the collections and develop each season’s thematic and references. They represent what the label is all about, a sophisticated garment, elegant yet simple that becomes unique due to its inspirations.
